Lansing Building Products - Auburn, MA Reviews
Had a truly awful experience from start to finish. Totally understand that COVID has thrown off timelines for everything and that delays are to be expected. That said the experience I had ordering a door was extremely negative from a customer service perspective from beginning to end. In general I had to make 3 calls/emails to get an answer on anything whether basic delivery estimates, whether particular door options were available, and pricing. When my door finally arrived 3 months after the initial time I was quoted, their driver just left the door in front of our garage (in full view from the street) and blocking us from leaving the house when we had to get to a gathering with my wife's family. When I called to complain about this, the guy Jeremy I talked to said sarcastically "well how much do you like your wife's family anyway?" They finally sent another driver back to move the door a few hours later. The door itself looks great but had some minor damage to it that they have tried to get out of fixing or rebating and I've had to make at least 15 calls to get any movement on. 3 months after reporting this issue we still haven’t been rebated and they seem to try to pass you off to someone else every time you call or blame their supplier Harvey who then tries to blame Lansing for any issue. Finally we also ordered a “standard” storm door from them that Jeremy recommended at the beginning of the process. When it arrived our contractor recommended we return it because of potential heat damage the glass panel could cause to the main door. Lansing is refusing to return it because it's a "special order" even though the door is a standard size and is still in the box.
November 30 · Bryan MilwardWe’ve been doing business with Harvey for many many years. We are a small window and door company that until recently, had 5 star reviews. This changeover has been extremely detrimental to our company. We have missing orders, that were paid for in full. We have over 20 open jobs incomplete due to their incompetence. They are tanking a business and our livelihood. No response to email requests. Save yourself the aggravation and go through a different manufacturer! Unless you want incomplete jobs that take months to finish and unpaid, or you get the windows that we installed did a customer FINALLY complete order just to discover all the windows have defects I would post pictures if I could. Absolute nightmare and don’t bother with Jean, Ryan, Gregor, or Joe Dennehy. They do absolutely nothing to help. Ryan is a snide, rude, condescending man with his feet up all relaxed with Jean making jokes after phone calls and over a dozen emails requesting updates on orders. We are removing every item that my guys can find (yes I’ve had to pay my guys to go look for our items in the warehouse) only way to fight back at this point is a lawsuit for damages. PLEASE do not go through Lansing/ Harvey. Don’t ruin your livelihood
January 14 · Raymond RandorMust be nice to have a business in a thriving market. So much so that a sales person hangs up on you when you ask them to dictate a list back to you to ensure it's correct. No worries. Thankfully, I have other options for this and scores of orders I'll make in the future.Note to the sales manager: See which woman sales person looked up an order [on the day this review was posted] on my account from 7/30/18 and fire them. That's what I've done in the past and would do here. Good luck.
July 31 · Strong Builders LLCWas much better when it was Harvey's. Blame it on covid all you want but this office has the attitude that you need what they have and you're on their terms. Words cannot describe the loss of time, frustration and money dealing with this office. Sadly, I highly recommend you go elsewhere.
April 27 · Shawn YoungGreat experience at Lansing today. I've been looking all over for one vinyl siding panel to replace the one that blew off this week. Internet search wasn't useful - no one will ship one panel. Big guys like ABC wouldn't sell it to me 'cause I'm not a contractor. Lowes and Home Depot web sites and physical locations proved to be as helpful as their reputation. Another lumberyard suggested Lansing (thanks C&S!). When I got there, I was greeted by a very friendly professional associate, who after seeing the panel, said 'we have that' and 5 minutes later another warehouse associate - also very friendly and professional - was helping me carry the new panel out. This is my new go-to building supply store.
