For residents of Rhode Island, a state known for its classic homes and often chilly winters, having proper insulation is crucial for both comfort and energy savings. A well-insulated home not only keeps you warm in the colder months but also helps you stay cool during the summer, all while significantly reducing your utility bills. Finding a reliable insulation contractor who understands the unique needs of New England homes is the first step toward achieving a more comfortable and energy-efficient living space. Proper insulation is not a luxury; it is a necessity for anyone looking to maintain a stable indoor climate and cut down on heating and cooling costs. The company’s focus on insulation means they bring a specialized skill set to every project. While insulation is their core business, they are a general contractor at heart, managing projects that improve a home's overall efficiency. They are also a participating contractor in the Mass Save program, which can provide homeowners with incentives and rebates for energy-saving improvements. By choosing a company that works with such programs, customers can often access resources that make these vital upgrades more affordable.

What is worth choosing Retro Tec Insulation, Llc:
When choosing a contractor for a home improvement project, particularly for something as important as insulation, a homeowner's due diligence is key. Retro Tec Insulation, Llc's status as a Mass Save participating contractor is a notable feature, as this can be a significant benefit for customers seeking to improve their home's energy efficiency while also taking advantage of available financial incentives. The Mass Save program is designed to help homeowners in the region make these critical upgrades more affordable, and working with a certified contractor is a requirement to access those benefits. This affiliation suggests a level of adherence to the program's standards and processes.
However, customer reviews provide a mixed perspective on the company's work. One customer, who used the company through the Mass Save program, highlighted some concerns, noting that the cleanup was not as thorough as expected and, more importantly, that a follow-up thermal camera audit revealed missed areas of insulation. This feedback underscores the importance of clear communication and careful project management. A homeowner should actively engage with the contractor, asking detailed questions about the work plan, what type of insulation will be used, and how the company will ensure full and complete coverage. The customer's suggestion to "pick your own insulation contractor" and "talk to them to see exactly what they plan on doing" is valuable advice that applies to any home improvement project, not just this one. This proactive approach ensures that the homeowner and the contractor are aligned on expectations, particularly regarding the use of advanced tools like thermal cameras to verify the work. While the Mass Save program is a great resource, a homeowner's direct oversight and communication with the contractor remain the most effective way to ensure a satisfactory outcome.

Retro Tec Insulation, Llc Reviews
I have a different experience than the 2 reviews already here. Mass Save uses them and I thought everything was ok. After they came to do the work, I saw they didn't clean up as well as I would have expected. When they blow insulation into your house, they have to drill holes through the siding into each stud bay. They left the scrap wood they drilled out, all around the outside on the ground. Other than that, I thought it was ok until Mass Save called me several weeks later to do an audit of their work. From the thermal camera images, it looked like they missed filling just about every corner of my house on both the first and second floors and under my windows. I would recommend you pick your own insulation contractor instead of letting the Mass Save program do it. Talk to them to see exactly what they plan on doing and if they will use a thermal camera to see if they missed any areas. I should have known better so that's on me.

March 20 · Andrew GiffordCommunicative, consciencious, and reliable. John and Bethany were extremely clear about what they will do for each part of the home, communicated progress, and always showed up and performed the work in a timely fashion. John even went above and beyond to give us his professional opinion on parts of the home which is not within the scope of the current work. So happy we worked with them for our home insulation!

October 27 · Adrian ChanThe company and owner are fantastic. Through no fault of either party, mass save scheduled them early but they were positive and said they’d be back. When the time was right they came back and worked hard for two days to do all the insulation in our house and attic. They explained everything and left the house clean of debris. Would recommend them and would use them again 100%
