Allies Roofing and Construction LLC Introduce
Hello, Austin homeowners! When it comes to tackling home projects, whether a major renovation or a simple repair, finding the right contractor is crucial. You want a team that not only delivers high-quality craftsmanship but also operates with professionalism and clear communication. Allies Roofing and Construction LLC is a company with a local presence in Austin that offers a wide range of services, extending beyond just roofing. Their team, led by individuals like Steven, aims to provide a comprehensive solution for your construction and renovation needs. This article is designed to give you a factual overview of their business, based on publicly available data, to help you learn more about this place and make an informed decision for your next project.
The reputation of a construction company is built on the experiences of its customers, and the reviews for Allies Roofing and Construction offer a detailed and varied perspective. One homeowner's experience was overwhelmingly positive. They hired the company for a custom steel privacy fence and were so impressed with the "top-notch" experience that they immediately hired them again for a custom steel courtyard gate. The reviewer highlighted the team's quick response, fair quote, timely delivery, and "impeccable communication and daily cleanup." They praised the quality of the on-site built custom steel wall, which "blew us away," and noted how both projects have transformed their home, adding security and earning "constant compliments." This review provides a strong endorsement, emphasizing the company's reliability, craftsmanship, and commitment to a high-quality finished product, especially on custom exterior projects.
However, another very detailed review presents a different side of the customer experience, particularly concerning a bathroom remodeling project. This client described a strained relationship with one of the partners, Chris, noting a series of tense exchanges over what was covered in the contract versus what would be an extra charge. The customer felt they were being charged for "extra" work that was standard or previously unmentioned, and that the communication became difficult to the point of arguments. The review also mentions issues with a subcontractor's work, including jagged tile edges that were covered with excessive caulk, and problems with carpentry, such as a pocket door that doesn't close properly. The review concludes with the customer's disappointment with the final product and a conversation with the other partner, Steven, who explained that the project had been underbid. This experience highlights potential issues with communication, contract clarity, and subcontractor management, which are important considerations for any homeowner.
The contrasting reviews showcase that, like many contractors, Allies Roofing and Construction has a diverse range of project outcomes. The positive review highlights their strength in custom steel work and exterior projects, where communication and execution were flawless. The negative review, however, raises important questions about transparency in pricing, the management of subcontractors, and the consistency of craftsmanship, particularly on interior renovation work. This detailed feedback is invaluable for local users, as it allows for a more nuanced understanding of the company's potential strengths and weaknesses. It suggests that while the company has the capacity for "true craftsmanship," as noted in the positive review, it is essential for customers to ensure a clear and detailed contract and to have consistent communication throughout the project, especially on complex interior renovations.

July 08 · D JonesWhen remodeling a bathroom, a lot of communication is needed, especially when Allies subcontracts most of the work. My wife and I were generally happy with how the work was going in the beginning, but then Chris started acting strange and pushing back or trying to charge us for minor changes or unexpected work that came up as the job progressed.Things continued to become strained between Chris, my wife, and me to the point that we got into more than one argument or tense exchange about what was covered in the contract versus what work would be an extra charge. When the tile work for the shower started, the subcontractor added a metal trim that we hadn't asked for. Chris said the trim was standard for tile jobs, but it was not covered in the contract, so we'd have to pay extra for it. When we pushed back, he wrote a list of all the "extra" work that he hadn't charged us for, and made my wife negotiate with him on who would cover what.Toward the end of the project, we gave Chris a list of items that needed to be done to complete the renovation, essentially a "punch list" of small fixes that is normal to provide to a contractor before they finalize the job. Chris started arguing with us about reinstalling a towel holder that had been removed at the beginning of the job. He also yelled at us about all the work we were trying to have him do that wasn't covered by the contract.I was so upset that I left in the middle of the argument, so things didn't escalate between us. My poor wife stayed with him and was able to "calm him down." Although he attempted to apologize to me, I was so fed up with his behavior by then that I told him in not-so-nice terms that I was done speaking to him and that my wife would be his point of contact to finish the job.Chris's partner, Steven, ended up calling me about the situation. During the job, Steven had made it seem like their company was on the client's side and would do the right thing. During the phone call, he informed me that Chris was upset because he had underbid our bathroom renovation and had since been trying to make up for it in additional charges for work that wasn't explicitly in the contract. Keep in mind, we were paying a very large sum of money for the renovation, but Stephen told me that he would have charged much more and that, because the work they do is high quality, they generally charge more than other companies.Steven ended the call by telling me to "never speak to his employee like that again." This is after his employee, Chris, had yelled and been antagonistic to my wife and me that day and throughout the job.We had very minimal contact with Chris after the argument because of how upset we were at that point. Chris seemed happy to be finished with the job and didn't attempt to do much of a walk-through to review any issues with the work. So, let's talk about the work they did. I currently have the worst tile job you've ever seen. It may look good from afar, but up close, you can see they used a dull saw to cut all the tile. Instead of cutting the tile properly, they tried to mask it by putting a ton of caulk, but you can see jagged edges where the caulk doesn't completely cover it.They also left nails sticking out of the side of my house due to an in-wall medicine cabinet they installed (my siding is also falling off). Their carpentry is also garbage. They installed a "slow-close drawer" in my vanity that requires a hard push and then a shove to close it. The pocket door they installed doesn't close all the way and slowly slides open on its own.which,
July 04 · J SI had the pleasure of working with Steven on two major projects at my home: installing a new metal roof and building a covered patio extension. From start to finish, I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of their service. The entire team, from the initial consultation to the final inspection, were professional, courteous, and dedicated to delivering top-notch results. The communication throughout the process was excellent, keeping me informed of progress, timelines, and any decisions that needed to be made. The quality of work is outstanding! My new metal roof looks fantastic. The covered patio extension was a beautiful and functional addition, and actually a last minute decision that was handled with ease.I highly recommend Allies to anyone considering roofing or construction projects.

October 01 · Jin KWonderful experience with Allies roofing division. Paul made everything too easy. He has a background with insurance adjusting so dealing with my homeowners insurance was a breeze. He met them onsite and everything was handled in one day. I was kept informed throughout the process and every question/request handled. The roof that was put on is gorgeous and I liked being able to see the process and finished product through drone shots. Really great experience with this company and I will recommend.
