UPDATE 2020: The company has responded to my review posted two years ago, and refuted some of my claims. In the interest of transparency, I shall address their comments here, and maintain that you should absolutely go literally anywhere else for a roof job.1.) We had initially contacted Ohrt and Goodman in 2015, which according to their records is within 9 years after the roof was installed. I do not have the details of the terms of the warranty, and it may be true that it was outside of the legal terms regardless. The reason it took me 3 years to write this review is because it took them that long to finally respond to me about the roof they installed.2.) When we were trying to get the roof repaired, we had approximately 10 companies come out to inspect the roof. ALL of them said that it was the worst job they've seen in all their years, and inquired who did the work.3.) AMAZINGLY, Ohrt and Goodman sent out two workers to look at the roof and give us an estimate on the repair. The workers did not know that their company had installed the roof and said the same thing!!!! When they also asked "which company installed this roof?!" and I told them it was them, they said I should contact the owner because of how bad of a job it was.4.) When I did this, I did receive a quote (FINALLY, after 3 years), I finally received an estimate from the company, with absolutely no discount.Ohrt and Goodman may have been outside of their legal obligation to provide a refund or discount, however I hoped that especially after their own workers recognized their failure, they would have made it right. They did not.Original post:I wish I could give 0 stars. We purchased our house in 2014 with the understanding that it had a new roof installed by Ohrt and Goodman within the past 5 years. Within one year of owning the house, there were leaks. After an extensive process, we learned that the gutters and roof were installed incorrectly, and that the only way to repair the roof would be to tear off and start anew.Amazingly, Ohrt and Goodman servicemen came out and confirmed what many other roofing companies had said, that the roof was installed incorrectly, and it was one of the worst jobs they had ever seen done before.I contacted the owner, Don Goodman about this, and asked if we could come to an arrangement to repair the roof. After taking four months of not getting back to me despite constant calls and messages, I finally received word that the only thing that they would be willing to do was charge us full price for a new tear off roof.It should be noted, we weren't looking for a free roof, but simply a discount since BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION, the roof was installed terribly.If this situation ever becomes remedied I will amend this review accordingly, but as it stands I would avoid Ohrt & Goodman at ANY cost. Do not risk what we have gone through with them.
