slate
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I left a message with Hazlett Roofing asking for an estimate. I mentioned there were entire slate tiles on the front porch roof and that I couldn't tell from where they came.Stephen arrived within a few days and left two carbon copy estimates for the $1486 roof repair. My mom is 91 and her family has been in this home for nearly 70 years. When it rains there is water coming through the ceiling in the second floor bedroom where the slate is visibly damaged. My mother and her sister signed the contract and mailed it to Hazlett Roofing leaving her with the third carbon copy which is not legible.I called Hazlett Roofing to see when they would be coming to the house.Stephen left a message on moms answering machine that he would be out either Thursday or Friday of that week. I called the very next day to express concern with the estimate that I couldn't read and to ask them to come on Friday because of my work schedule. In addition, I mentioned the visibly loose tiles on the second floor.I received no return call and the workers showed up on Thursday instead of Friday. My mother asked the worker about the leak on the second floor and the man said he's not a supervisor nor did he contact Stephen.I was hoping to be there with the workers on Friday but since they came on Thursday I was taken out of the loop. They did a good job fixing the porch roof even though the tile color isn't even close. To pay $1486 for 3 hours of work and to not even have your leaky roof addressed is a shame.I called Stephen to express my concerns and that did not go well, he thought we were trying to get additional work done for the same price. We just wanted the roof fixed. In retrospect things could and should have been handled better on both sides. There is an obvious issue with communication between Stephen and myself and Stephen and his workers. The carbon copy system is dated and the worker ignoring my mothers concern is unacceptable.
May 30 · BB MatthewsWe have a slate roof on our house. Stephen and his team have been great every time we've needed to have work done on our roof. We're very pleased with them, and I would certainly recommend them!
April 06 · Thomas HeggenWe had our slate roof repaired. Steven, Andrew and the team were very profesional, prompt to work, and did a great job. They will be our go to for future maintence.
August 21 · Shannon HaferI keep calling and leave the message then they never respond
