RainDance Roofing Introduce
For residents of North Carolina, particularly in the Asheville and Fletcher areas, a sturdy and reliable roof is the first line of defense against our region’s sometimes severe weather. From intense summer thunderstorms to the more significant challenges posed by events like Hurricane Helene, homeowners need a roofing contractor they can trust to protect their most valuable asset. The process of hiring a contractor can be complex, and it’s crucial to have all the available information before making a decision. This article aims to provide a clear, factual overview of RainDance Roofing, a local contractor based in Fletcher, NC, by summarizing key aspects of their service as reported by customer reviews.
Choosing a local contractor often comes with the benefit of shared community values and a deeper understanding of regional specificities, such as local building codes and common weather patterns. A company with a local presence is typically more accessible for follow-up questions and warranty claims, which can be a significant advantage. It is with this local perspective in mind that we examine RainDance Roofing, exploring the various facets of their work as detailed in public testimonials. The provided reviews touch on important themes like project timeliness, quality of work, adherence to building codes, and overall customer service, offering a multifaceted view of the company’s operations.
The importance of a well-executed roofing project cannot be overstated. A roof replacement or repair is a substantial investment, and the quality of the work directly impacts a home’s safety, structural integrity, and value. The reviews for RainDance Roofing highlight several critical areas of concern that local homeowners should consider. One customer's experience detailed a lengthy delay between the deposit payment and the start of the project, an incomplete job, and an unexpected request for more money for work that was not properly completed. This same customer also found that the work failed a framing inspection due to trusses not being up to current code, a serious issue that points to the importance of contractors staying current with Buncombe County building regulations. Another review from a new homeowner mentioned a persistent leak from a roof that was supposedly under warranty, but the company reportedly refused to honor the warranty and became unresponsive to the previous and current owner's attempts to resolve the issue. These reviews indicate some significant challenges in communication, project management, and quality control.
RainDance Roofing is located at 4006 Hendersonville Rd, Fletcher, NC 28732, USA. This location places them within the greater Asheville area, making them easily accessible to residents throughout Buncombe County and the surrounding communities. A local address is often a positive sign, as it can indicate a contractor’s commitment to the community they serve and their ability to be physically present for consultations and follow-up work.
For homeowners, having a local contractor means that they are a short distance away in case of an emergency or a warranty claim. However, as the reviews highlight, a local address does not always guarantee a timely or responsive service. It is a good practice for homeowners to confirm a contractor’s local licensing and insurance, and to be aware of the specific building codes for their county. In Buncombe County, for instance, permits are required for many roofing projects, and final inspections are mandatory to ensure the work meets all relevant codes, including those for structural elements like trusses.
Based on the provided information and reviews, RainDance Roofing appears to offer a range of services related to roofing and restoration. The reviews offer specific examples of work they have performed, providing a glimpse into their capabilities.
- Roof Replacement: The reviews indicate that RainDance Roofing undertakes full roof replacement projects, with one customer describing a job that involved a roof and truss replacement.
- Structural Work: The review mentioning the rebuilding of trusses suggests that their services can include structural work necessary for a sound roof installation, though the quality and code compliance of this work have been questioned in the provided feedback.
- Exterior Flat Roof Work: One customer mentioned that the company worked on the flat part of their roof, though the review points out that the work was not sealed completely, leading to a dispute. This suggests they have experience with different types of roofing systems.
- Roof Leak Repair: A review from a new homeowner highlights that the company was called for a roof leak repair, indicating that they handle maintenance and repair jobs in addition to full replacements. However, this same review also raises concerns about their responsiveness and willingness to honor warranties for such repairs.
The provided customer reviews, while critical, offer several key takeaways that can be considered features or highlights from a factual perspective. These points can help a homeowner understand the potential strengths and weaknesses of the company.
- Crew and Project Scope: One customer mentioned that the company came out to replace a roof and rebuild trusses, showing that they can handle complex projects with a significant scope of work.
- Visual Appearance: While the quality of the work was in question, one review notes that the roof "looks great," which suggests that the aesthetic outcome of the project was initially satisfactory to the customer.
- Potential for Delays: The reviews highlight a potential for significant delays in scheduling, with one customer noting a two-month wait after paying a deposit and having their contractor make multiple stops to the office to get the job scheduled.
- Customer Service and Warranty Issues: The reviews suggest serious issues with responsiveness, communication, and honoring warranties. One customer described the company as "completely unreliable" and "non responsive," and another’s contractor had to actively pursue them to get the job done.

For locals in the Fletcher and Asheville areas, choosing a roofing contractor requires careful consideration, especially after a storm or for a major renovation. The provided reviews for RainDance Roofing highlight a number of red flags, including significant delays, issues with workmanship and code compliance, and problems with customer service and warranty claims. While some aspects of their work, like the final appearance of a new roof, may be satisfactory, the serious concerns about structural integrity (trusses not up to code), responsiveness to leaks, and honoring a warranty are crucial for homeowners to be aware of. When a project fails a building inspection and requires extensive follow-up to get scheduled or completed, it can lead to unnecessary stress and additional costs. Therefore, for locals looking to hire a contractor, it is essential to conduct thorough due diligence, including checking for valid licensing, asking for references from recent jobs, and ensuring all agreements, including warranties, are clearly laid out in a written contract before any payments are made. This cautious approach can help homeowners avoid potential issues and ensure their roofing project is completed to the highest standard, protecting their home and their investment.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Update from previous review. Failed framing inspection because trusses were not up to current code per Buncombe County building inspector.Rain Dance came out to replace my roof and rebuild 7 to 8 trusses. Roof looks great except that they left a big mess in the attic and front room where the damage was and put something over the flat part of the roof which was not damaged but did not seal it down completely and now they want more money. I’ve already paid $13,000 and it took them over 2 months after I put down the deposit (1/2 the job amount) and my contractor had to make multiple stops to their office to even get me scheduled after they took my money. Not happy and I have no certificate of completion for my insurance company. I understand that they are probably swamped after Helene but don’t take peoples money, then make them wait months to do an incomplete job.Update: My contractor found multiple trusses not connected by nail plates at all in some cases, or only on one side when each side should have a nail plate or they used NP 20 plates which specifically say “not for trusses”.
March 18 · Dick PollardMy home's roof was completely replaced by Chad not quite two years before I bought it. Not long after I moved in, there was a leak dripping through the ceiling from one of the fixtures on the roof. When I called about it (because it was still under warranty) they told me that they had lost the final check from the previous owners for the replacement, and that I would have to pay full price for the leak repair. The former owner even tried to help me with the warranty and contacted this company to set things straight, but Chad never responded to them. The previous owners even showed me their payment records, but Chad did not.Completely unreliable, non responsive, poor workmanship.Edit: I'm adding photos of the night I removed the hornets nest *myself* while troubleshooting the leak problem, proving Chad is dishonest. Chad is lying all across his response to my review. The hornets nest was not the problem and I had to get another roofer to come seal up the vent to finally stop the leak. I still have several unanswered emails to Chad about addressing my roof leak.
August 31 · Matthew PetersCannot say enough kind words about RainDance Roofing. After Hurricane Helene, much of my property was damaged-requiring a full roof replacement, chimney, soffit, and fascia repair…From the initial inspection with Chad, to the thorough/kind communication that Lynda provided, (insurance put me thru many hurdles and I appreciate her help along the way) I felt confident that the work was going to be fantastic.I was not let down in the least-my roof is perfect, the men were respectful/efficient when doing the work, and the cleanup was impeccable (I have two small boys so this was very important).I recommend RainDance roofing with my highest recommendation and will definitely use them again.
May 31 · Joe BurrageWe had Rain Dance out to install soffit vents prior to the hurricane. They were punctual and did outstanding work. Even their clean up was very professional! When Helene came through, she planted 4 trees on our house, leaving a big hole over our living room. I called Rain Dance immediately. By Sunday they had a team, along with the owner, Chad, at our house. Their expertise of removing the tress was a sight to see. Two trees were hung up on our front porch right in line with our stone stairs. With a bit of exact cuts and Chad and the crew got the trees down and missed the stairs. They tapped our roof until they were able to get our shingles.Once again, their team came swooping in and made all repairs to the roof. Once again the work and cleaning up were done very professionally. Their team was very respectful and professional.Rain Dance has since repaired our ceiling and repainted the living room. Daniel, the dry wall/painter was a joy to have working in our home, and as before, the work was outstanding,We have since contracted Rain Dance to repair our porch. Once again, Chad and his construction manager come to our home and fully inspected the damage and discussed what needed to be done - which is a full replacement of our front porch. I can't wait to see how beautiful the porch will once again look.I HIGHLY recommend Rain Dance for all your construction needs. They are the only company I trust with my home and my money!!!BC Fairview, NC
January 20 · Bonnie CathersUpdate. Trusses failed Buncombe County inspection. They were built to/by design and not up to current code.I paid Rain Dance a deposit on 11/19/24 and half the job on 12/17/24 and my contractor had to physically go to the office to insist that they schedule my job. I have 6 broken trusses and a giant hole in my roof from Helene. They are supposed to do my roof and trusses this week but I just heard from my contractor that they aren’t even getting my materials delivered until tomorrow and possibly might get to me Wednesday (I’ll believe it when I see it). I have been living in my house for 4 months now with tarps and ginormous heating bills even though I put plastic up over the ceilings to try to keep the heat in as much as possible. I’m a 68 year old widow whose husband died 6 weeks before Helene and now have my 92 year old mother living with me in a house with a huge hole in my roof from front to back. I’m not impressed with Rain Dancer Roofing but hopefully they can change my mind by getting my roof done this week.Roof was put on 2/5/25 but they left a big mess in the room where the majority of the trusses were and the flashing on the chimney was but on top of the architectural shingles instead of underneath so don’t lie flat and the black surface squares installed on the flat roof are not sealed in all places. They do not respond to calls from my contractor.
