Tom Vapner Roofing & Painting Reviews
The company is owned by Tom Vapner. Seemed like a nice guy until the work actually started . At first there was the foreman and several of the workers. They showed up couple days then disappeared for a week. Every time they showed up, it could be for only a few minutes to sometimes an hour. There was a time they didn't show up for 2 weeks. Each time they showed up, they lost people until he was down to the foreman and one guy. At the end it was just the foreman. Reason being, i guess no one had transportation, so the foreman would pick them up. Eventually they all quit. I am thinking they weren't paid. Now remember, this was just a porch roof. It should have been done in one or two days. It took them from May 2020 to sept 2020. I had to put half down. When you put that money down and you realize what and who you are dealing with, its a fearful thing to say anything that may make them get mad stop everything and then you lose all your deposit and the job doesn't get finished. Finally after he was finished, mind you we already had a written up contract, I had the check ready and gave it to the foreman. Well the owner must have been down the road because seconds later there he was. He ask me where the rest was. I was a tad confused since I paid half up front so all I owed was balance. The owner told me that I had to pay for the ceiling and that was another couple thousand apparently. Now, reading the contract, I assumed this was in there. Well according to him it wasn't. Then he started threatening me and another person at my home and told me I better pay it or he would sue me. He bullied me for 2 days as I was trying to figure out my finances so I could pay this. I asked him for proof, at one point caught him in a couple lies, asked him about credit for having to wait several months for the job to be finished, that fell on deaf ears. This guy definitely done me wrong. I did pay him but I also have enough proof that I can take him to court and try to get things right. He likes to bully people and threaten you with a lawyer. If you hire him, make sure you get a contract with a completion date, exact expenses and exact amount you will owe. This guy caught me off guard and wrongfully charged me. My friend btw called police and filed charges. But this is the kind of person he is and what I experienced. So be careful.
