In the construction industry, reputation is built project by project, and the experience a client has with a company's team, from the owner to the on-site workers, is paramount. Coastline Construction Services appears to have a dual reputation based on the provided reviews, with some clients praising their work and others expressing significant dissatisfaction. This duality underscores the importance of a thorough vetting process for any contractor you consider. While one reviewer describes a positive experience with a professional, friendly, and neat crew that went above and beyond, another tells a story of an unsupervised, sloppy crew, marked-up material prices, and rude behavior. This article will present these contrasting experiences, allowing you to weigh the information and decide if this company is the right fit for your specific needs.

The features and highlights of Coastline Construction Services present a mixed picture, based on the provided customer feedback.
Features / Highlights:
- Positive Experience: A satisfied customer praised the crew for being "on time, very friendly and very neat." The owner, Grant, was also highlighted for going "above and beyond" by repairing additional siding at no extra cost, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and fair pricing.
- Fair Pricing: The price for the project was described as "very fair," which is a significant factor for any construction project.
- Negative Experiences: A separate review, however, raises serious concerns. It alleges "subpar" and "sloppy" work, a rushed and unsupervised crew, and one worker being "RUDEST and most UNFRIENDLY." The customer also claims the owner marks up material prices significantly and that the final walk-around was rushed.
- Lack of Accountability: The negative review also points to a failure to fix damage caused by the crew, specifically the ruining of a newly painted balcony floor, which the customer found "unacceptable."
- Reputation with HOA: The customer stated that their HOA would not use the company again, which is a significant red flag for a business specializing in multi-family community work.
These conflicting reviews make it challenging to form a single, cohesive impression of the company's quality and professionalism. It highlights the importance of getting a clear, detailed contract and being present during the work to ensure it is being done to your standards.

For a local user in California, choosing a general contractor is a decision that requires a high degree of trust. The available public data for Coastline Construction Services presents a clear dichotomy in customer experiences. While one client had a positive encounter with a fair price and work that went above and beyond, another had a profoundly negative experience marked by poor workmanship, unprofessional behavior, and a lack of accountability. This conflicting information makes it impossible to provide a universal recommendation. However, it does highlight what a prospective client should be mindful of. If you are considering hiring this company, it would be prudent to get a detailed, written contract that outlines all aspects of the project, including cleanup and material costs. You may also want to ask for references from recent projects and speak to those clients directly. The significant concerns about employee supervision and final-project satisfaction, as noted by the negative review, are serious red flags that a potential customer should not ignore. While they may be a good fit for certain projects, the risk of a "huge mistake" and a "headache" is a real possibility that must be carefully considered before making a final decision. In a market with many options, due diligence is the most important tool you have.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Grant and his team repaired the siding on my house plus some dry rot areas. They were on time, very friendly and were very neat. Price for the project was very fair too. Not only that, Grant noticed other siding boards in need of repair and replaced and painted them at no extra cost. I highly recommend Coastline Construction!
May 22 · Joann TorzaUnfortunately we hired this company to do some work for us and what a HUGE mistake that was! NEVER again!Grant (the owner) marks up the prices for the materials quite a bit, we found out later. He drops off 2 workers and takes off, leaving them unsupervised. Their work is subpar. They're SLOPPY and in a HURRY to finish and get the hell out. One of his workers (the thin one) I think is name is Sergio, is one of the RUDEST and most UNFRIENDLY people we ever met! We would NOT recommend them to our worst enemy!* Update: Our response to owner's reply:No, we were NOT happy at time of final completion, we were rushed on final walk around of job, but luckily we still managed to point out some things that needed to be re-done and only paid to avoid being sued. Didn't want to deal with them anymore. Headache!Plus some of the work (install new sidings) was paid by our HOA (which we asked them not to EVER use this co. again!). When they came back to install the balcony siding panels, they RUINED the newly painted balcony floor and we needed to repaint it. Unacceptable! If the owner thinks his employees have the ability to work unsupervised, he is sadly mistaken, they don't. He needs to hire more competent and careful workers. Save yourself the headache and STAY AWAY from this company.
July 08 · D MReally impressed. They were on time, professional and have very high quality work. The crew was always on time, they had a plan, they executed to the plan efficiently, they had all the materials handy, they cleaned up after themselves every day and were very respectful to the people in my home and my neighborhood. The job was quite big but it was accomplished very fast with minimal disruption to our household.Note: I was getting external woodwork and structural repair done. I had super bad termite and dry rot damage.
March 24 · Fauzia SaeedGrant (the owner) is incredibly rude and his crew does terrible work. He knew and acknowledged that I rent my place and that he should speak to the property manager to discuss redoing the large job that his crew did poorly, but he called me anyway to see if I would pressure the property manager to choose an easier alternative for him.I told him that if she did decide to go that route I would prefer that he send a different team. That devolved into a nasty, unprofessional conversation, during which he suggested that if I didn’t want urine and pubic hair on my toilet at the end of the day he’d just put a “porta-loo” outside my front door. He wondered why I cared that they knocked over my garden wall since he came back and put it back together again 2 days later. He couldn’t seem to defend the blasting mariachi music, but said I’m the only one who’s ever been disturbed by it. Then he dismissed all of my concerns as being “quarantine stress”. When I asked for the name of his company (no one has disclosed that to me at that point because HOA was handling the matter) so I could write a review, he refused to tell me and said, “No one reads that anyway.” Fortunately I was able to track it down.My home reconstruction which was damaged over a month ago from a flood has now been set back several days at the least while someone else comes in to tear out their work and start over. Steer clear of Coastline Construction!
