Deciding on a contractor for your home is a significant decision. Cut Once Remodeling presents itself as a company that handles a diverse range of home improvement projects, which can be a major advantage for homeowners looking to coordinate multiple services. A key aspect worth noting is their emphasis on providing a broad scope of work, meaning you might not need to hire multiple contractors for a single renovation. Their focus on energy-efficient products, such as specialized coatings and windows, is particularly appealing in California, where energy costs and conservation are important considerations.
Additionally, their dedication to providing a full-service experience, from initial free estimates to project completion, is designed to streamline the renovation process for the client. The positive feedback they have received often highlights their customer service and the quality of their work, particularly in window and door installations. Customers have pointed out that they do outstanding work from beginning to end, with excellent customer service and remarkable knowledge of their products. This kind of praise from satisfied customers can provide a great deal of confidence when choosing a contractor.
However, it's also important for potential customers to be aware of all perspectives. Some customer experiences have highlighted what they perceived as high-pressure sales tactics and a lack of transparency regarding pricing. A review mentioned the company's policy of requiring both owners to be present for an estimate and the refusal to provide an itemized breakdown of costs without signing a contract. It's also noted that initial estimates might be significantly higher than expected, with offers of a discount if a contract is signed immediately. Another reviewer pointed out receiving repeated calls even after expressing disinterest. These accounts suggest that while the company may deliver a quality product, customers should be prepared for a firm sales process. As with any significant home investment, it is always a good practice to take time, gather multiple bids, and ensure you are comfortable with the terms before signing any agreement.
In conclusion, Cut Once Remodeling offers a wide range of services and aims to be a one-stop-shop for many home renovation needs. Their strengths lie in their diverse skill set, commitment to energy-efficient products, and positive feedback from clients who have been pleased with the final results. When considering them for your project, it's advisable to be prepared for their specific sales process and to do your own research to ensure you are fully confident in your decision.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Cut Once Remodeling does outstanding work from beginning to end. I would recommend their services to anyone wanting new windows installed or sliding glass doors. Their customer service is excellent! Their knowledge and products are remarkable! Thank you very much, Roxanne & Ed
August 21 · Roxanne StoneExtremely Pushy Sales Tactics, Inflated Pricing, and Lack of Transparency - Proceed with Caution.Tip: If you are not interested after receiving an estimate, explicitly ask them to remove you from their CRM so you don't keep getting calls. The best analogy I can come up with my experience, is a slimy car sales rep trying to hustle a woman because he thinks she doesn't know anything. However, at least with a car you can look around and test drive it before signing a contract for 58k.This company came to my home in San Diego offering a free estimate for exterior house painting. I agreed, thinking it would be a straightforward evaluation. However, when the rep arrived, they refused to do an estimate unless both owners were present. I explained that I co-owned the home and my sister and I are on the same page about making financial decisions on the house, but they insisted on rescheduling. This obviously is a manipulative sales tactic as they want us both here so they can pressure us into a quick "yes" which became evident as the conversation progressed. They returned later in the week and did their walk through but not before giving us a lengthy sales pitch for their "coolwall" product. This was the product they were going to sell the whole time, but did a whole pitch of other options and why they aren't as good. After doing a walk through they gave us an estimate which was about 58K to paint and repair water damage for the exterior. I was shocked. For perspective, my friend is building a new house down the street from me that is the same size as my house for 100k.What's worse is that they refused to provide an itemized breakdown of the cost unless we signed a contract. They also did this whole spiel about how other companies have unethical bait and switch practice, and take illegal amount for a deposit. But here they were pressuring us to sign a 60k contract without knowing what our funds were being spent on first and they used the "if you sign today you will get a 15% discount." This is a sales tactic to prevent you from getting other bids or doing research. Especially since they finish their walk through/estimate at 7/8pm. It felt shady. Fortunately, my sister works in construction and she asked a general contractor their opinion and he too was shocked about the price and claimed they are definitely trying to hustle us.Then today I received a call during my work hours. I ignored it, but the rep immediately called back without leaving a voicemail, just another example of pressure. When I answered, the rep said they had a new LOWER estimate and wanted to send another rep over to present it - but he wouldn't give me the number over the phone. Another tactic to pressure us to purchase by having someone present instead of doing business over the phone. I asked why the price dropped, and got a vague answer about cheaper materials. Another red flag.It felt like a bait-and-switch; high-pressure sales tactics, inflated pricing, and targeting homeowners they assumed weren't knowledgeable. If we had signed the 58k contract, would they have suddenly "found" cheaper materials to reduce the price? No, they wouldn't have. Ironic that part of their sales pitch was how ethical they are compared to some other companies out there but they just practice high pressure, bait-and-switch tactic with price inflation. Felt as though they think just because they only ask for the legal amount (1K) down payment, that means they can practice other red flag sale tactics and that makes them super ethical.
August 28 · susan YangOver the last 4 years we have decided to hire COR 3 times. Each time we were extremely satisfied. We have owned our house for 36 years and have never encountered a company as organized and communicative as this one. As long as you can afford it, you cant go wrong in making a decision to hire them. You’ll get great work and fantastic products with little to no stress during the whole job.PS: they did our windows, roof, and paining
August 01 · Jackie AdamsCut Once Remodeling done a great job on our house. With exceed expectations and a stellar service.
July 31 · Jocelyn WalkerRecently had my exterior done by COR. They did a fantastic job from start to finish. I leave early for work and come home late so I never saw the work taking place. David and Rhay called me daily to keep me informed about what to expect next and how the day went. Sounded like there was a little bit of unexpected damage as it took one day longer than expected. My house looks amazing. I’m very happy with my purchase. I would recommend COR to anyone looking for a good job done right.
