GreenLiving Introduce
For homeowners across California, maintaining and upgrading a property is a continuous process. Whether it's protecting your home from the elements with a new roof or embracing sustainable energy with a modern solar system, finding a reliable and professional contractor is essential. This article provides a detailed overview of GreenLiving, a business operating out of Torrance, California, specializing in roofing and solar energy system services. As local residents, we understand the importance of choosing a company that not only delivers on its promises but also understands the unique needs of California homes.
It is crucial to approach any home improvement project with careful consideration and research. When selecting a contractor, it is highly recommended to perform due diligence. This includes verifying the company's license status with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), checking for any outstanding complaints or disciplinary actions, and reviewing a wide range of customer feedback from various sources. Public records and consumer forums are valuable tools for gaining a comprehensive understanding of a company's performance history.
GreenLiving is located at 2321 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA 90501, USA. Situated in the heart of Torrance, the location is generally accessible to residents across the South Bay and surrounding Los Angeles County areas. This central position allows the company to serve a broad clientele for their roofing and solar needs. Torrance Boulevard is a major thoroughfare, making the office easy to find for those who wish to visit in person. However, given the nature of roofing and solar work, most of the services are provided on-site at the customer's residence.
GreenLiving's services span both traditional roofing and modern solar solutions, positioning them as a versatile contractor for a range of home exterior projects. Their offerings are designed to cater to various homeowner needs, from emergency repairs to full-scale remodeling projects. It is important to note that the scope of a company's services can provide insight into their expertise and capabilities.
Some of the services reportedly offered include:
- Roofing Contractor Services: This includes a full suite of services for all types of roofing.
- Roof Repair and Installation: Services include general roof repair, roof installation, and addressing specific issues like roof leaks and missing shingles.
- Inspections and Consultations: The company offers roof inspection services, with options for free consultations, inspections, and estimates to help homeowners assess their needs.
- Roofing Materials and Systems: Services include work on asphalt shingle roofs, pitched roofs, and flat roof replacement, as well as the installation of ridge vents and various coating systems.
- Gutter and Fascia Work: They also handle gutter installation, aluminum fascia, fascia board repair, and replacement.
- Solar Energy Systems: As a solar energy system service, the company offers solar system and solar panel installation, including solar windows, to help homeowners transition to renewable energy.
- General Home Improvements: Beyond roofing and solar, the company's capabilities reportedly extend to other home remodeling projects, such as home window installation and replacement, exterior paint and coatings, architectural and commercial design, composite decking, and pavement maintenance.
A contractor's features and highlights often speak to their operational philosophy and customer-focused practices. While every company aims to present a positive image, it's the on-the-ground experience that truly defines their service. When evaluating a contractor, consider aspects like their project management, communication, and commitment to addressing issues.
According to publicly available information, GreenLiving has highlighted several features, which include:
- Integrated Services: The company presents itself as a single firm that can handle multiple remodeling services under one roof, providing a single point of contact for both design and construction phases of a project.
- Knowledgeable Experts: They claim to have knowledgeable and helpful experts who can assist with various projects.
- Free Inspections and Estimates: A notable feature is the offer of free inspections and estimates, which can be a helpful starting point for homeowners exploring their options.
For those interested in their services, GreenLiving provides a physical address and a phone number. This information is typically used for scheduling consultations or for a homeowner to visit the office.
- Address: 2321 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA 90501, USA
- Phone: The company’s phone number can be found through public directories.
When selecting a roofing and solar contractor in California, several factors are worth considering to ensure a positive outcome. The decision to hire a company for a significant home improvement project should be based on a thorough evaluation of their reputation, service quality, and professional conduct. While GreenLiving's services appear extensive, it's essential for consumers to weigh all available information. Public reviews and legal records are a critical part of this process.
It is important to acknowledge that some customer reviews from public forums have raised serious concerns. These include allegations of poor workmanship leading to roof leaks and damage, and issues with guarantees not being honored. Reports of a revoked CSLB license are a significant red flag that every potential customer should investigate directly with the Contractors State License Board. Claims of unresponsiveness, uncompleted work, and a lack of accountability for damages are also mentioned in some public accounts. These types of issues can result in substantial financial and emotional distress for homeowners. The experience of other customers, particularly those who have had to resort to legal action or intervention from organizations like the VA, underscores the need for extreme caution.
Ultimately, a potential customer's choice of a contractor for a roofing or solar project should be guided by their own research and comfort level. While a company may present a wide array of services and a professional facade, the true measure of their worth is their track record of customer satisfaction, integrity, and adherence to professional standards. For any homeowner in California, the first step should always be to verify a contractor’s license status and review all available public information before entering into any agreement.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1First Green livings license has been REVOKED because of so many COMPLAINTS. The State of California Contractors State License Board wants me to complete the form they sent me to fill out because they do not believe he should have a License at all because of so many people suffering like myself over Severe Leaking roofs that is DESTROYING our drywall ceilings inside our home and flooring. I have additional copies of the State license Board Complaint forms if anyone would like them.I had my roof done by green living 3 years ago I had the small peaked roof in back 2 years ago. I'm showing you pictures of my main roof and my back room roof. The main roof Guaranteed for 50 years and The a back roof 15 years guaranteed. Both leak so badly the brand new drywall is coming down Because of the leaks. The ownerTold me I have to pay for the labor, to have a guy inspect the roof$250, and materials to have it repaired. I told him That I'm a old handicapped veteran and you're taking advantage of me. They left over 2 inch gaps on the peak of our roof where water pours in. He did not care at all about repairing what they did wrong. Do not believe any guarantee at all. I had to let the VA administration know about how I have been treated so poorly. I do not want any other veteran or customer go through what we have been put through. I now haveThe VA attorneys Been informed and they will take this issue up with green living And I was told they will get results because taking ADVANTAGE of veterans and consumers by shady roofing contractors needs to STOP. I HOPE that everyone who reads this understands that I will not stop until these repairs are fixed. Please do not use this contractor u will be sorry.More updates to come for everyone to see if repairs get done or NOT. I really believed in this company and look what happened to US.
January 15 · thomas fitzGREEN LIVING SUCKS! DO NOT USE THEM!!We paid over 10K for just the outside of our home. They gave us a total botched job. They did not even come back to finish the job. They are so unprofessional. They would not return my calls to finish and repaid the damaged they cause. One the first day they broke a water line. They also cut and damaged all of our outdoor lighting. and damaged our Banana Tree. I plant to sue them for a refund. Eric was the formen for this crew. What made me more upset is that he anger at me for the mistakes his crew did. I can go on and on about the the daily mistakes. Bottom line they scammed me and never came back to finish the job. They also do windows. They screwed that up too. They ordered the wrong window color. HUGE MISTAKE .
July 15 · Elizabeth MillanI am VERY worried right now.My parents are older and need a new roof, this company knocked on the door and pushed a quote. My parents said what they wanted - specifically mentioning plywood. They got the quote, signed, and work started immediately. HOWEVER, when this company found the rotting wood they completely STOPPED work and said wood wasn't in the contract.Just our luck, it's been raining for a week now WITH NO ROOF ON OUR HOUSE. The home has been in our family for 5 decades now! They put some really pathetic plastic tarping on the roof, but the living room furniture and carpet are getting wet. My dad went up and tried to put better tarping. He also tarped up the inside of the living room-- work he should not have to do at his age. Apparently the company is going to do the wood at cost, but now they have to wait for it? I just read reviews of the roof leaking after their work is done. I'm writing this review to warn people of what can happen. Will update this review when we see the outcome.
September 14 · Stassi OAn ordeal that started in April of 2021.Had some rotting wood on the eaves. One of their door to door rep came by April 2021 and I told him yes I been wanting to replace and repair eaves around the house. Salesman was quick to show up within a few days.-Next thing I know I have to replace the flat roof on the back part of the house because water was sitting where I had 20 solar panels installed in 2014.- then it’s $300 PER panel removal and re-install. That’s $6000 already-then it’s this top notch quality roofing material with great warranty they promoting (warranty which I still have NOT received despite 4 calls to the office 6 months after completion)- then after peeling the flat roof opened they decided I needed some more wood. So another $2000 of which 1/2 the materials not used and not bought either.- back room roof if about 35’ by 15’-took a few hours in one day to take old roof off-left it exposed for a few weeks because material not ordered yet…..why ripped off in first place. After I called to enquire why roof exposed to elements for so long, they sent someone to cover it in tarp.-communications were famously minimal. Salesman don’t follow up because it’s up to the manager assigned . My manager was Jin, who don’t follow through either and I get different calls from different ladies at their work place telling me different start dates and I took off work to wait for them.-I showed up at their office in Torrance and asked what’s going on.- the accounts lady said they have many changes in staffing. Ok give them some slack- roofer came and job done in one day. Roofing inspector came same day to inspect and said wow that’s fast-pictures included are the mess they left behind despite their promises of taking care of clean up after their mess. It sat there for a month- pictures also included said clean up guy taking our ladder after we told him that’s ours (on camera can see us telling him before we left for work) and We went to work and saw this on camera . The other guy was the inspector heard on camera saying wow the roofing job done was fast.-clean up guy took everything left over unused to his truck BUT not clean up.-it was an ordeal dealing with this company. No one came to walk over the completed project with us.- lots of promises and good friendly salesman who can sell but poor communications after that. The sun contractors they used like the solar company and roofing are good people. The office NO.- would not recommend them to friends, families, neighbors nor colleaguesOh yes, still did not receive any word from Anders (many positions, lost count what he does) regarding warranty .And eaves wasn’t repaired . Picture of eaves the way it was after roofing completed.
February 08 · nora noraBeen dealing with this company now for over a year and a half for my roof to be completed properly. All managers I have spoken to from Dan, Derek, Jimmy, Carmen, and Jin have given me every excuse from the contractor being poor and they are sueing him to blaming it on previous managers there. We are now in dispute with paying for the remaining due for our roofing project. They will lie and make excuses and than ignore you. Please be aware as I don't want anyone else being ripped off by this company. These are just a few pictures of the work they didn't do. They replaced rafters that were not damaged and left damaged ones. Jimmy told me I could fix them myself.
