★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have worked on many projects with iHome Improvements as a vendor and Amy has always been amazing to work with! She communicates frequently and always keeps us up to date with the progress of the project and when she will be ready for us to do our installation. She has always been reliable, fair and so easy to work with.
July 25 · Casey MershonI had an excellent experience with iHome Improvements. When our basement flooded Amy came out after hours to look at the damage. She immediately went to work on an estimate which was more than fair. The next morning she had her crew at my house. This was a big job and her attention to detail did not go unnoticed. She most certainly did her due diligence. I will continue to recommend them.
July 07 · HEATHER PARSLEYWorst experience of my life. Sadly there's a character limit on Google so I'll provide as many details as I can on what went wrong but there's so much more to say (see my pics).Project took place 9/23-8/24. Was quoted 2 months, added about 1 month of extra work but ended up taking 11 months. Timing was ridiculous. By the end of 60 days 1/3 of the original contract wasn't even finished. She wouldn't even give me a time estimate after awhile because I would be mad when they couldn't meet it- didn't even care to make this go faster or try all while I could see on Facebook she was busy finishing other projects. They missed random days-sometimes days at a time sometimes gone for weeks (and not because we were waiting on supplies). Missed a combined total of 4 months of work just from not showing up. I was told there would be 2 people on my project- only 1 depressed, unmotivated employee on the whole project who took 20 smoke breaks a day, didn't show up on time, left early, drank in my carport, stole one of my vape pens. He would throw tantrums when asked to fix shoddy work, cuss & slam doors- 1 incidence so bad Amy came out. I had to spend a year in my house with someone who made me feel unsafe.Another reason it took so long is because he would do a poor job & then have to redo a bunch of stuff, probably about a month lost to redoing stuff.Amy continuously lied to me on what she would do to get my timeline back on track-2nd employee, someone extra was going to install doors, she herself was going to come & paint. None of this ever happened. Excuses were plentiful & inappropriate.Communication from Amy was abysmal. She almost never gave me a heads-up on days they wouldn't be there. I would be reaching out at noon trying to find out why no one was at my house. This was a big issue because I would lock my pets up 2x/week while I was in the office & would have to spend my entire lunch break driving home to let them out. My pets were not allowed outside unsupervised which I stressed many times. One time I came home and one was in the front yard. Another time one was locked outside of my house in the backyard for 12 hours.Poor communication extended to quotes and how the project was to be done- quotes were just an email with no breakdown of how she came to her pricing figure- labor vs. materials. They would do work on things & then I wouldn't even have a price for it until after the work was completed. She unprofessionally complained to me about how she was losing money multiple times. Eventually she was having me get checks made out to her employee directly (instead of the company) every Friday, extremely irritating & inconvenient to me.There was no attention to detail. She rarely came by to check on the project- maybe 1-2x a month, sometimes I wouldn't see her for months. She had her employee send pics of his work & she would just say it looks great-all while missing massive drywall seams & nail pops & awful crown/baseboard seams & nail holes.I had a sagging ceiling Amy wanted to lift after all rooms were redone. I had the common sense to realize this would impact the 3 bedrooms where we were redoing drywall/crown molding & can't imagine how much longer this project would've taken had we done it in Amy's order (the "professional"). Original quote was missing a lot of work- it was hard to tell because she doesn't detail anything out. It just says drywall & a sq ft amount- making quote seem much lower than it should've been.Had to repaint a lot on my own (see pics for paint issues). 1 bedroom door doesn't close right. Pocket door for bathroom doesn't lock properly.I started this project when my partner moved out, knowing he would come back in a few months so time was essential. After 5 months he was ready to come back & couldn't because of this project. She did give me approx 10% discount for how long it took but the discount was not worth what I lost. My partner died 5 days after this project finished so he never got to move back in & I lost the last few months I had with him because of this company.
