What Is Worth Choosing New York Homeowners Construction Co.
Choosing a contractor for your home can be a complex decision, and it is important to consider all aspects of a company's offerings and reputation. New York Homeowners Construction Co. presents a unique value proposition due to its wide range of services. For homeowners in the Syracuse area who need more than just a single repair, the company’s ability to handle roofing, siding, insulation, and remodeling under one roof can be highly convenient. This can lead to a more coordinated and efficient project timeline.
However, it is also important to consider the experiences of previous customers. A review provided highlights a customer's dissatisfaction with the communication and follow-through on promised services, particularly with a specific individual, Tom Bassett. The customer felt misled regarding a "free" energy audit and noted issues with the final cleanup and the quality of some of the work. This feedback suggests that while the company offers a comprehensive list of services and has a team that gets the job done, potential clients should be diligent in their communication and ensure all aspects of the contract, particularly free services and quality control, are clearly understood and documented.
The review also notes that other team members were "nice and got the job done quickly," which indicates that the crew on the ground can be efficient. The company's focus on energy efficiency, with services like home energy assessments and various types of insulation, is a significant benefit for homeowners looking to save on utility bills. Ultimately, for those in need of multiple home improvements who are prepared to be proactive in managing the communication and quality control aspects of their project, New York Homeowners Construction Co. offers a diverse skill set that could be a convenient solution for their needs.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We recently contacted the company not knowing much info on what an energy audit was but wanted to learn more. The process started out with Tom Bassett coming to the house and telling us how what we could change to be more efficient/save money and told us about the fancy tests he was going to run for free so we could see a before and after on our bills. And how big of a difference we would see based on the numbers. We, again, knew nothing about the process and thought this was a great idea to have the tests run, for free. During our talks with Tom, he made sure to note that he was not a “salesman” and quickly came over to sign the contract. I had to call many times to ask for the tests and kept receiving excuses that the “batteries were dead, it’s too cold outside, I’m too busy with other clients, I don’t want you to judge us on our work based on the tests, this test is $250”. He kept promising the tests after I called and called but his team showed up and then there was no point to run the test after the insulation and glass blocks were put in the house. I feel that I was lied to and would NOT recommend this man/company. I will say the other team members were nice and got the job done quickly but the insulation looks somewhat messy and they did not clean up well after themselves.

March 04 · Amy DuPontTom Bassett, our sales rep, was very knowledgeable in the process and pleasant to deal with. He explained things thoroughly and answered our questions regarding construction methods, process, options, and schedule. Tom's pricing was in-line with other prices we received.I was unable to be at home during the time of the installation. Dave Jr., our installer, was a perfect gentlemen - he treated my wife respectfully and addressed her questions and concerns in a professional and complete manner. We were very pleased with the quality of work as well, and they cleaned-up after themselves nicely when the work was done.Toward the end of the day, the owner of the company, Dave Sr., came by to verify the work had been done to our satisfaction and asked if we had any follow up questions or concerns. (it was and we did not)This is the second project we've done with NY Homeowners Construction. As repeat customers, if we need additional projects done in the future, we'll be calling them again.

November 21 · Lynore CummWe did a major renovation with this company about 6 years ago. As it turns out, they did a crappy job on our porch off of our bedroom. Water started to leak inside our house. After countless calls they finally sent 2 guys out. They put some glue substance down(which didn’t fix the issue). And now it’s going to cost us about $8,000 to fix the mess they made. We tried to no avail to get them to repair the issue and all calls have gone unanswered. If we could give them no stars we would have. What a mess. Completely unprofessional and way over priced company.

December 12 · Erin DownesI would could zero stars if I could. Everything seemed great until we had an issue. Took them 6 years to fix the problem...or so they say! Apts were made a few times where they never showed up on time and we had to call just to tell us that their truck broke after my husband took a day from work just to be there. They could of at least called. Still have an issue to this day and they claim to have gone above and beyond....what a joke. Thanks for nothing! Your nothing but scam artists!
