Fog Coat is a cement-based finish that is designed to patch, refresh and re-color exterior stucco walls. Fog Coat is superior to paint when it comes to refreshing stucco because unlike paint, Fog Coat lets the stucco breathe. With paint, moisture is sealed in, potentially causing mold and mildew to grow behind the walls of your home. With Fog Coat, homeowners can repair unwanted cracks in their stucco without painting or completely re-stuccoing the entire wall. It’s an affordable, practical option with superior results compared to other stucco finishing methods.

When the total of the failed areas is more than 30%, it is recommended to sandblast. During this process, we sandblast and scrape all Tex-Cote from house. Apply a “skim coat” of high-strength, high-bond Portland cement substrate, such as Poly Prep, to the entire house as needed. Finally, apply a new stucco color coat to the entire house, textured to the homeowner’s choice.
- New Stucco (without Sandblasting)
This process goes as follows. Water blast and scrape all areas to completely remove failing Tex-Cote. Applying a “skim coat” of high-strength, high-bond Portland cement substrate, such as Poly Prep, to the entire house as needed. Finally, apply a new stucco color coat to the entire house, textured to the homeowner’s choice.

- New Tex-Cote®
Tex-Cote® can be applied to a variety of surfaces and textures. Whatever your home’s exterior surface, we recommend using only a certified professional applicator to properly apply Tex-Cote® to your home. According to the manufacturer, applying a Tex-Cote® coating system to your home’s exterior surface protects your home longer than using ordinary paint, withstanding an average of forty years of exterior exposure to the natural elements of weather when installed properly. So if you are adamant about only painting the exterior of your home, ask your paint contractor about using Tex-Cote® instead of paint. In the long run, using Tex-Cote® will keep the exterior of your house looking beautiful while saving you money in the years to come. Unfortunately, not all contractors will work with Tex-Cote®, so make sure to inquire beforehand. At Stucco Boy, we do not recommend Tex-Cote®. Instead, we prefer removing and replacing Tex-Cote® with traditional stucco.

Stucco is one of the most durable wall surfaces available. But, because of its rigid nature, stucco can develop cracks and holes over time due to settling and impact damage. Once a crack or hole develops, it is important to take immediate action before any further damage and water penetration can occur. Proper attention to crack preparation is essential to achieving a successful result. This is where stucco flashing comes in. Before you try to do-it-yourself, consider hiring an experienced stucco repair expert to repair & seal cracks in your stucco.

The preferred choice for homeowners looking to re-stucco their homeAlthough EIFS manufacturers have made significant improvements to their products and installation procedures have been mandated to include a drainage plane and a weather resistant barrier between the sheathing and insulation board, EIFS is primarily used best in commercial projects or where it will be applied over stone, brick or metal substrates. For homeowners, where plywood sheathing and wood studs are used in the construction of their home, the best siding option will continue to be traditional stucco. It is less likely to absorb water and will hold up better to dings, hail, and woodpeckers. At Stucco Boy, we will make sure your home’s exterior cladding system is properly installed using the three-coat stucco process and a weep screed so water penetration will not be an issue.
- Venetian Plasters
- Vent & Light Installation Patching
New central air conditioner installations, water heater relocation, dryer vents, new decorative or security lighting installations are all cause for new holes to be made in your stucco walls for renovation or installation.

- Water Intrusion
- Weep Screed
We have been hired to fix damaged homes that are as young as five years old. The symptoms were leaky doors and windows. When we stripped the stucco we found considerable rot in the sheathing and framing around those windows. In most cases, the culprit behind these problems is poorly detailed or inadequate flashing around windows and doors and along the edges of walls. We can repair the damage around your windows, doors and where your roof meets your stucco walls by installing proper flashings and casing beads. This prevents future cracking around your doors and windows. But more importantly, it prevents water damage.
- Window Patching
Proper window patching requires chipping back existing stucco from around the window to expose the asphalt coated waterproofing paper and lath wire. In some cases, proper window flashings are installed to prevent water from entering your home – adding an extra barrier of protection from heavy rain and hail. Window flashings must be installed behind the 60 minute paper so water drains through the weep screed at the bottom of the wall. A proper stucco patch job done by a skilled professional means your stucco is less likely to crack and decreases the chance of water leaks significantly. Our expert lathers have years of experience patching windows on commercial and residential jobs and they are pros at matching existing textures and colors.

Stucco Boy Reviews
We hired Jereme and his team at builder boy to be the GC on our extensive remodel pictured below. We had him do most everything on job which included gutting the structure down to the studs, reconfiguring the floor plan, adding structural reinforcements to create an open floor plan, re-wiring and plumbing the 5 unit complex, insulating it, installing shear paneling, stucco from scratch, and all the finish work. His professionalism, communication, and timeliness was refreshing in this day and age. Considering the high demand for general contractors today and the price gouging going on due to the low supply we were ecstatic to be able to find a GC who was able to provide high-quality customer service and an exceptional finished product. Our family would like to thank Jereme and the builder boy family for all their hard work and dedication to the job. I know we kept changing plans, finishes, and pretty much everything on you guys constantly but you kept your cool and never complained.Thank you again and we look forward to using your services again in the future.
