★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I do not like to post negative reviews, but I had such a poor customer service experience with this company that I felt strongly that I had to post. I unfortunately would never recommend this company to anyone due to the frustrating experience in getting our work done.My husband and I had a project that was pretty small— installation of gutters on two different small areas of our home and some deck work to properly install some flashing. We had our initial estimate for the work on 10/3/17 and signed the paperwork on 10/9/17. There were issues with lateness and not contacting me at this point and some unpreparedness on the part of the salesman that made me doubt whether we should actually move forward. But for a variety of reasons we did decide to move ahead, which I regret. At both visits, I asked the salesman approximately when the work could be completed and both times he indicated it could be be completed quickly; at the second appointment he said I would most likely be hearing from the scheduling department by the end of the week to set up the projects. This was definitely a selling point for us.When I hadn’t heard from anyone within the timeframe, I called the company to get an update as to about when they would be scheduling the project. The woman I spoke with when I called initially told me she would have no way of knowing this and that they were very busy with projects. She ultimately said probably several weeks. I called every 3 or so weeks and spoke with her and was never able to get information about my project; I asked to speak to the scheduling department but she said it was just her in the office. I was told I would be called back and never was. Finally, in the second week of January, I called and got someone different on the phone and explained my concerns to him. He said he was personally looking into it and would get back to me. I never heard from him again, but two days later, two workers showed up at my door to do the deck work. This had not been scheduled at all with me— I had no idea they were coming. (This is not at all the fault of the workers— they thought it had been all worked out). But I was able to have them do the work that day and they were very respectful, kind, and did good work.Next started an extremely frustrating period of trying to get the gutter work done. I made numerous appointments (I believe 7 total) with Patrick to come to my home and do the work and he no-showed every single appointment. Maybe once or twice he contacted me at the time of the appointment to cancel, but for all the others, I was the one who reached out when he didn’t show up and didn’t call. He would never answer his phone and his voicemail was no longer accepting messages so we primarily corresponded via text. I called the office and tried to get assigned a different person for the work, but instead they sent Patrick to my house at 5 PM one day, without scheduling it or notifying me in any way. It was too late for him to do any work anyway because it was already dark out. I started to get some traction with one manager to get someone else out to do the project, but when I called back to speak with him literally one day after we had initially spoke, I was told he had been fired. I explained the situation to the new manager I was working with, asking to be reassigned to someone who was not Patrick. When I called the manager two days later to check in (he had said he would call me back and didn’t), he told me they were sending Patrick out to my house the following day. I got very upset as I had continually asked not to work with him and they finally sent someone different out to do the work, who showed up on time and did a good job. After all that, the gutter work only took 2 hours.Following the project completion, no one from Residential Improvements has ever contacted me to confirm I was satisfied. I sent a detailed e-mail on 2/1/18 documenting all of my concerns and asking to be contacted by the owner to discuss them. As of today (3/22/18) I have not heard back from anyone.
March 22 · Caitlin OwensHorrible experience. Our addition has leaks, uneven floor, walls are cracking. Andrew will not text us back. Took money from the equity account without permission. When bank demanded refund the company refused. They had several thousand dollars and we had barely anything done yet. Andrew insulted us and our home. Said we were lucky he even worked on our dumpy home.Andrew hired a roofer to install our wood floor and the man tried 3 times but still had dust and bubbles in the finish. Had to hire a floor man to redo it. We begrudgingly got them to deduct the floor guy off our bill. Andrews man John saw the problems and agreed and got the cost off our bill but Andrew was livid.Communication is extremely lacking within the company. Employees were fired .They never put up plastic and our house was a dust bowl.It took weeks later than they told us to start work and weeks late in finishing. Three weeks to one month turned into 3 months. They left our home exposed to the element's tho Bob promised nothing inside would be exposed until the outside was complete. Wind whipped through our home for many days. Animals or people could walk right into the addition into our home. Our cat got through one of the openings and was lost for days in the dead of winter. No one cared or tried to help get him back . We found him but andy told the better business bureau his guys did. Absolute lie.Their people came to our home, on a weekend, without our permission or knowledge and came inside while we were not home. We called the police and filed a complaint. They never came on weekends prior to that day. In fact said they didn't do weekends. Our new kitchen floor does not match up with the previous section and there is a lump in the middle. The grout won't stay in.I would be happy to show anyone who wants to see the mess we were left with. There is no baseboard under the cabinets and thresholds look terrible. The whole experience has been a nightmare. Andrew hadn't responded to my text yet. Two have been sent a week apart.Andrew, call my husband, make arrangements for the repairs. The wall cracks are getting bigger, going up toward the ceiling. We have been told it is a structural issue.Stand behind your work. Some of us may have to band together. I don't want to have to go back to the better business bureau or a news channel and/or an attorney. Take care of business and fix the issues we and other customers have with your companies work.
March 02 · Pauline DionCathy gave a poor review to my company. First of all my field representative gave her a price pending she was able to obtain financing. I, The owner went to her house and looked at the work scope and she mentioned to me she did not want to obtain the funding immediately due to the fact there was an up front $1,500.00 fee from the finance company. We never start an addition with out the funds being acquired by us into an escrow account (at least partial) or provable funds in a homeowners account. She told me she would not fund the loan until the job was done so she did not have to make a payment on the loan too early. Many times I have seen situations change for a home owner, or banking rules changed where a job is complete and then the home owner try's to get the loan but they become unqualified and the builder winds up not being able to acquire reimbursement for the investment in material and labor. She says stay away from us? I say she is not being honest. She also mentioned many things she wanted done that were discussed but not included in the lower price we gave her. She had a budget and we tried to meet it. She was told the town was not allowing the build, that is because I marked a big "Hold" sign on the folder, due to no funding. I did not see a way to make her happy so I with drew from the project. How is that bad? I took no money...I was the one that took time and effort to try to help her, she refused to get the banking until she felt like doing so. I did not want to argue so I just let it go. She said she had a less expensive option so I released her from the contract. My rep. made a mistake and thought the permit was turned down (based on the "Hold" I put on the folder) and I am sincerely sorry for that misunderstanding. We sent a certified letter to her explaining the reasons for us backing out. Her review was unfair and hurts my company a lot. She is not being 100% honest.
December 15 · Andrew BranleyThis company's practice is to take your money (a lot of money) and never produce a product. Phone calls never get returned. Once the contract is signed, you may as well go directly to the Attorney General's office because this company will never deliver on their promises. To date the company never showed up to do the work that was paid for. Andy returned my daughters call after 5 months and wanted her to feel sorry for him. Really? Home advisor and the Attorney General has contacted them and they still won’t return money. Isn’t that a crime? Maybe channel 10 would be interested to hear about how they steal from consumers.
November 27 · Maria RootesThey do a pretty job overall but do not pay them before they finish or you will never get them back. I've been contacting them for over a year now to have a few mistakes corrected. Not worth the aggravation and waste of my time.*UPDATE* I changed my review from 1 star to 2 star due to them finally finishing the job and the employees they sent did do a good job. If you are having the same struggles I did report them to the Better Business Bureau. They lied in the response saying the delay was due to my hectic schedule when in fact I had been calling them and e-mailing them for a year. The few times they did schedule something I took off work to have them not show up. However they did finally come finish the job after my bbb complaint so it was definitely worth taking that route.*UPDATE* Back to one star for harassment and threatening to sue me for writing my experience with them.
