United Home Experts is conveniently located at 155 Fleet Street in Portsmouth, NH. This central location in the Seacoast region makes them easily accessible to residents in and around the area, including communities like Dover, Exeter, Hampton, and beyond. Their presence in the heart of Portsmouth provides a solid base for their operations, allowing them to dispatch crews and manage projects efficiently throughout a wide service area in southern New Hampshire. As a local business, they are attuned to the specific building codes, architectural styles, and climatic challenges unique to the region. This local insight is invaluable, as it ensures that all work is not only up to standard but also built to withstand the demanding local weather patterns. For local residents, being able to visit a physical address and speak with a representative in person can provide an added layer of confidence when considering a major home improvement project.
The company prides itself on offering a diverse range of services, designed to address nearly every aspect of a home's exterior needs. This broad scope allows them to handle complex projects, where multiple services might be required simultaneously. Their service offerings include:
- Roofing: This is their core specialty, with services ranging from roof inspection and repair to complete roof installation and replacement. They work with various materials, including architectural shingles, asphalt shingles, and cedar shakes. They also offer solutions for storm and wind damage repair, as well as flat roofing systems.
- Carpentry and Painting: United Home Experts has teams that specialize in both exterior and interior painting, as well as general carpentry tasks. This allows them to handle everything from door painting and texture work to more extensive structural repairs often needed before a painting project can begin.
- Siding Contractor Services: They are equipped to handle a variety of siding projects, including remodeling and installation of new siding materials. This is crucial for protecting the home and enhancing its curb appeal.
- Window and Door Installation: The company provides professional window installation and replacement services for both new windows and existing openings. This includes a variety of window types, such as bow windows. They also handle general door installation, which is a key component of a full home exterior update.
- Gutter Installation and Repair: As part of their comprehensive roofing and exterior services, they install and repair gutters, which are essential for proper water management and protecting the home’s foundation.
- Additional Services: Other offerings include attic venting, skylight installation, and specialized systems like fluid-applied roofing and solar panel integration. They also provide free roofing estimates to help homeowners understand their options and the potential costs involved.
When considering a contractor for such significant work, it is important to look at the features and highlights that set them apart. United Home Experts emphasizes a professional approach to home improvement, aiming to provide a seamless customer experience from the initial consultation to the project's completion. They offer online estimates, which can be a convenient starting point for busy homeowners who want to get a general idea of the costs without an immediate on-site visit. Their services are designed to be comprehensive, covering the entire home improvement journey. They work on both residential buildings and commercial properties, demonstrating a versatile skill set. A key feature is their use of specific, high-quality products like Owens Corning Roofing materials, which indicates a commitment to durability and performance. However, it is also important to note that the scope and execution of projects can vary, and prospective customers should always perform their own due diligence, review all contract details, and ask detailed questions about the project timeline and materials used. While they aim to be a one-stop-shop for many home exterior needs, some customer reviews have pointed out challenges with communication and project coordination, suggesting that a proactive and hands-on approach from the homeowner may be beneficial to ensure a smooth process. It is always wise to thoroughly understand the specifics of your project, including materials, labor, and the expected timeline, to avoid any potential misunderstandings.
For those interested in learning more or discussing a potential project, United Home Experts can be reached through the following contact information. Their physical presence in Portsmouth, NH, provides a tangible point of contact, and their phone line is available for direct inquiries. Their address is 155 Fleet St, Portsmouth, NH 03801, USA. You can also reach them by phone at (603) 314-8800. These contact points are crucial for local customers to get in touch and schedule consultations or request estimates. It’s always recommended to start with a clear, concise inquiry about your specific needs and to be prepared to provide details about your home and the scope of work you are considering. A clear line of communication from the very beginning can help set the stage for a more successful project outcome. It's also worth noting that while phone and email are common communication methods, some customer feedback has highlighted issues with a mix of communication channels (texts, emails, calls) and multiple representatives, which can lead to confusion. A best practice for any homeowner would be to establish a primary point of contact and to request all major project-related agreements and changes in writing.
When it comes to choosing a roofing and home improvement contractor in New Hampshire, there are several key factors to consider. United Home Experts offers the convenience of being a one-stop-shop for a wide range of exterior services, from roofing to painting. This can save homeowners the time and stress of managing multiple contractors for a single project. Their local presence in Portsmouth means they are familiar with regional weather challenges and building standards. They provide free estimates and are transparent about their service offerings through their online presence. Their use of established brands like Owens Corning also suggests a focus on quality materials. However, as with any large home improvement project, a clear understanding of the contract, a meticulous review of all project details, and a proactive communication style from the homeowner are essential. While their promotional material emphasizes quality and efficiency, some customer experiences have brought up concerns about project timelines, communication breakdowns, and the need for homeowners to be vigilant in monitoring the work. The decision of who to hire for such a significant investment in your home rests on a balance of the company’s stated capabilities, your personal comfort with their process, and an understanding of the potential challenges that can arise in any large-scale construction project. Ultimately, choosing the right contractor means finding a company that not only has the expertise but also a strong commitment to clear communication, accountability, and customer satisfaction, ensuring that your home improvement project is a success.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.My experience with United Home Experts (UHE) was a complete nightmare. The project was supposed to include new Everlast siding, trim, and 10 new windows (not replacements), with a quoted cost of $63,000 and a timeline of 2 weeks.Yes, UHE did complete the initial installation in 2 weeks—working late into the night under exterior lights—but every single aspect of the work had to be repaired or reinstalled. The project ultimately took 18 months to complete due to poor workmanship and repeated mistakes.Major Issues:Roofline Trim Missing: Despite the scope calling for full exterior replacement, UHE did not include the roofline trim. They later charged me extra as an “add service.”Siding Installation Poorly Done: The Everlast siding was cut too short on every side of the house, leaving gaps between boards and windows or trim, exposing the Tyvek. One entire side of the house had to be redone—twice—and still had short boards and visible Tyvek.Nail Holes Unfilled: Nail holes in the trim were not filled. When I asked about it, UHE told me to hire a painter—even though the trim and siding are both paintless materials. They later agreed to fill some high nail holes with caulk, which has already discolored.Incorrect Fasteners Used: They used the wrong nails (non-galvanized), which rusted. Portions of trim had to be pulled down and reinstalled multiple times, leaving boards full of visible plugs.Trim Boards Reinstalled Up to 5 Times: Some trim pieces were installed and removed so many times they were ruined. All 10 Windows Improperly Installed: Every window had bowed sills with large gaps beneath. UHE tried to cover the gaps with massive beads of caulk, which yellowed and cracked within weeks. The window manufacturer eventually sent a rep to inspect and confirmed the windows were installed incorrectly, causing the bowing.Terrible Coordination and Responsiveness: I asked about including a door in the project and was told not to bother, because bringing in the door crew would be “too expensive.” When I hired someone else, it became a coordination nightmare.Final Summary:Yes, UHE “finished” the install in 2 weeks—but then spent the next 72 weeks fixing their rushed, sloppy work. For a company that charges premium prices, the quality was absolutely unacceptable. While they were willing to come back and fix issues, the fixes were often just Band-Aids on serious problems. You will need to double-check everything they do. Save yourself the stress and money—hire someone else.
June 09 · Kevin Mcgrath⚠️ Please use caution when considering United Home Experts. Their lack of accountability and poor communication turned what should have been a straightforward and exciting project into a frustrating, disappointing and costly experience. We hired United Home Experts to modify two door openings and add new doors and to replace an existing door with modern high-end doors. Unfortunately, the project was plagued with errors, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. One of the doors we selected was ordered with a 6" jamb depth, even though our walls are only 4". This critical detail was never explained to us until after the non-refundable door had been ordered. To make matters worse, the same door was also ordered swinging in the wrong direction. Full disclosure, I did sign a contract which showed the wrong door swing, I do not argue this point, but prior to the order, I received a message in United’s online portal noting a discrepancy in their notes about door swing and the contract but the wording and schematics were written in shorthand that I couldn’t understand. I replied asking for clarification before the order was placed, but I never received a response. The door was ordered anyway — and the company refused to take any responsibility, even though my documented request for clarification is in their system.Other issues included:* Damage during installation: One new door was cracked in the frame during installation. While the company offered a discount for this damage, I am now left with a damaged “brand new” door.* Disorganized communication: We were contacted through a confusing mix of text messages, emails, portal messages, and phone calls from at least five different representatives. This lack of consistent communication undoubtedly contributed to errors.* Lack of transparency in billing: Despite repeated requests, the company would not provide an itemized invoice separating door/hardware costs from labor and materials. This seemed unusual and made it difficult to understand what we were actually paying for and if "discounts" were just a small dent in mark-up.* Trim/Finishing: United was unable to match our home’s custom trim and flooring. The attempt to blend with existing finishes and trim is close, but does not match the other trim.Overall, the company did not do a good job explaining door specifications to the average homeowner, which led to costly mistakes, additional re-orders, and a project timeline that doubled. While they offered a discount on one replacement door, the original wrong door remained full price — leaving me with an expensive, unusable door that does not fit my home.Even after I wrote a formal letter to management, my concerns were never acknowledged which I found very interesting since they seem to be responsive to their google reviews. After more than six months, our project is technically “finished,” but I am left with regret, a damaged new door, and an extra door that I have no use for and will likely have to sell for a big loss.
August 23 · J SWe are super happy with the work the crew from United did. What a difference! We love the new look and quality of the doors and windows. It's like a full face lift and the contrast of the grey siding with white trim, fantastic! Garth was wonderful to work with. He always responded right away to any questions or concerns we had. He has a great sense of humor too! The men in his crew were respectful and kind. They are hard workers, so fast and efficient! Start to finish they replaced the siding, windows, doors and roof in a total of 12 days! The roof was done in half a day. Very impressive! I have already recommended to a friend that they look into United for their home, and I will happily share our experience with everyone. Thank you!!!
